29 Aug Hold On, He’s Coming!
One of my favorite scriptures ( I have quite a few ) is Luke 1:45
“And blessed is she that believeth, for there shall be a performance of those things that were told her by the Lord.”
It is written on a plain white index card that I have kept inside my wallet for as long as I can remember. When one wallet wears down I take the index card out and put it in the new wallet.
By now the paper is yellowed, ripped and torn in places from moving around in multiple zippered compartments.
I carried this scripture everywhere with me.
Let me be the first to admit that I love a nice handbag so this little card got moved a lot from bag to bag depending on my outfit. It’s not that I read it every day but if I needed to it was close. I took the scripture about hiding the word very seriously!
I think it may be time to take it out of my bag now. Oh, I can quote this scripture in my sleep. And I know it to be true. But at one time I needed to have it written and close by so that I could look at it whenever I needed to be reassured of his promises to me. It was in my head, then in my purse but now it’s in my heart.
God has seen me through so many precarious times that I no longer need to carry this in my bag. I know that I know, that I know (as the old folks say), he is faithful and he is true.
